What hours can you trade stocks?
The stock markets have established trading hours when stocks can be traded. Trading a particular stock on a stock exchange depends on which stock exchange it is listed on. For example, if you want to trade Barclays (BARC) stock on London Stock Exchange, you can do this from 08:00 to 16:30 (GMT/UTC) from Monday to Friday. Moreover, the London Stock Exchange does not close for lunch, but most Asian stock markets are closed. Most stock exchanges are open from Monday to Friday, however, Middle East exchanges are usually open from Sunday to Thursday. It is possible to place a trading order after hours, but since there are no market participants, a large amount of liquidity will be required to fill the order.
